Buying

Do I need an account to buy?

Yes. You need a free Rigged account to check out, and you must be 18 or over. Your account lets you track orders, message sellers, and open a return or report a problem if you need to.

How do I buy something?

Find the item you want and tap Add to basket or Buy now. At checkout, enter your delivery address. We get a live tracked postage price for your address, and then you pay securely through Stripe.

If your basket has items from more than one seller, you pay each seller separately, with one secure payment per seller. When payment goes through we email you a confirmation, and the order shows up in Dashboard › Buy › Orders.

What payment methods can I use, and is it secure?

All payments go through Stripe. You can pay by debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Other options, such as Klarna or Clearpay, may show at checkout where available. We don't accept PayPal.

You type your card details into Stripe's secure checkout, so Rigged never sees or stores your full card number. Never pay a seller outside Rigged (for example by bank transfer). Payments made off the site aren't covered by Rigged's order, return and dispute process.

Can I make an offer?

Yes, on listings that accept offers. Tap Make an offer on the listing, sign in if you haven't already, and suggest a lower price. The seller can accept, decline or send a counter-offer. An offer expires if it isn't answered in time.

If your offer is accepted, you pay the agreed price, plus postage, through the normal Rigged checkout. The item is held for you for a short time while you pay.

What are Saved Items?

Tap the heart on any listing to save it. Everything you've saved is in Dashboard › Buy › Saved Items, and we can email you if a saved item's price changes. The seller may see that someone saved their item, and they can send you a private offer.

How do I message a seller (or a buyer)?

Sign in, then use the contact button on the listing or the message option on your order. Every conversation is kept in Dashboard › Inbox › Messages, and we email you when there's a new message. Sellers can reply to buyers the same way.

Keep conversations and payments on Rigged. You can't arrange payment off the site, and doing so isn't protected.

Can I cancel an order?

Yes, until the carrier accepts the seller's parcel. Open the order in Dashboard › Buy › Orders and choose Cancel Order.

You get back what you paid minus Stripe's payment processing fee. Postage is refunded too if the shipping label hasn't been used and can be cancelled. Once the carrier has the parcel you can't cancel. After it's delivered, use Return & Refund instead.

Selling

How do I become a seller?

It's free to join and there's no monthly fee. Choose Sell Products when you create your account, or use Become a Seller from your dashboard. Seller setup has three steps:

  1. Store profile: your store name, store web address and location. You can also add a short description of your store.
  2. Payments & shipping: enter your shipping-from address. We check the address, and it needs to match the one you give Stripe. Then complete Stripe onboarding, which includes an identity check. You may also be asked to accept the carrier's terms.
  3. Complete: review everything and switch your store on.

You can list items once Stripe onboarding and verification are finished.

What can I sell on Rigged?

Rigged is built for all kinds of tech: custom and pre-built PCs, components, storage, monitors, peripherals, laptops and VR, phones and tablets, consoles and games, plus audio, cameras, TVs & home and smart home. Related gaming and tech accessories are welcome too, such as cables, chargers, adaptors and 3D printing gear.

Power banks and items with batteries can be listed, but some carriers restrict them. Evri won't carry a standalone power bank, and Royal Mail has rules for lithium batteries, so choose a carrier that accepts the item and check their rules before you post.

Items that aren't related, like bikes or household goods, aren't allowed. Never list stolen, counterfeit or illegal goods. Describe the condition honestly, say if an item is used, and mention any known faults.

How do I list an item?

Go to Dashboard › Sell › Listings and add a new listing, or use List an item in the header. Add clear photos, then a title, category, brand, condition, price and description.

Enter the parcel weight and size. We need them to price postage and create your shipping label. You can also tick Allow private offers if you're happy for buyers to make offers. Your listed price doesn't change. Postage, and parcel cover if the buyer adds it, is worked out at checkout.

I've made a sale. What happens next?

We email you, and the order appears in Dashboard › Sell › Orders, where you can see and manage every sale. Open the order, click Create Shipping Label, then pack the item well and send it within the dispatch time shown on your shop.

Payments & Fees

How much does it cost to sell?

Joining is free and there's no monthly fee. Rigged takes a 5% commission on each sale. It comes out of your earnings, so buyers don't pay it. Stripe also charges payment processing. The earnings in your dashboard are shown after Rigged's commission and Stripe's processing costs.

Do buyers pay any fees?

No. There's no buyer service fee. Buyers pay the item price, plus postage, plus parcel cover if they add it. The full total is shown before you pay.

How and when do I get paid?

Payouts go through Stripe Connect to the bank account you set up with Stripe. After a sale, your earnings are held while the buyer checks the item. Buyers have 72 hours (3 days) after tracked delivery to report a problem or open a return, so payment is usually released about 72 hours after delivery if nothing is reported. The money is then paid to your bank.

A new seller's first payout can take up to 7 days because of Stripe's own checks on new accounts. Payouts stay on hold while a return, dispute, missing parcel report or fraud check is open. You can follow everything in Dashboard › Sell › Overview, and change your bank details any time with Update Stripe account.

Shipping

How does postage work?

Postage is part of the sale. At checkout, the buyer pays a live tracked postage price from the seller's address to theirs, based on the parcel's weight and size. The cheapest available tracked service is chosen automatically.

Once the item sells, the seller opens the order and clicks Create Shipping Label. The label has already been paid for from the buyer's postage, so sellers don't pay for outbound postage themselves. Tracking is added to the order automatically.

Do I need a printer? Which carriers do you use?

Not always. For Royal Mail and Evri, tap Show QR at drop-off on the order. Take the packed parcel to a Post Office or Royal Mail drop-off, or an Evri ParcelShop, show the code, and they'll print the label for you. Other services may need a printed label: use Download Label. Return labels work the same way.

What is parcel cover?

Depending on the delivery service, you may be offered optional parcel cover at checkout. It's provided by a third party, not by Rigged, and the price is shown before you pay. Rigged doesn't provide its own insurance or warranty.

How do I track my order, and what do the statuses mean?

Tracking is on the order page (buyers: Dashboard › Buy › Orders; sellers: Dashboard › Sell › Orders). It updates from the carrier, and we email you when the shipping status changes.

  • Pending: payment isn't confirmed yet.
  • Payment processed: paid. The seller is getting your item ready.
  • Out for delivery: the label has been created and the parcel is on its way.
  • Delivered: the carrier has confirmed delivery.
  • Delivered, review window: the inspection window is running, and the seller's payout is on hold.
  • Payment released: the buyer confirmed or the window ended, so the seller has been paid.
  • Completed: the order is finished.
  • Return requested / Return in progress: a return is open.
  • Cancelled / Refunded / Partially refunded: the order was cancelled or money was returned.

Returns & Refunds

Can I return an item?

You have 72 hours (3 days) after delivery to open a return. Use Return & Refund on your order.

  • Faulty, damaged, wrong or not as described: the seller pays for the return label.
  • Change of mind: private sellers don't have to accept these. If the seller accepts, you pay for the return label. If they reject it, there's no return and no refund.
  • Business sellers (traders): you may have extra legal rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Please don't post an item back yourself outside the Rigged process. The return has to be tracked against your order. See our Return Policy for full details.

How does a return work?
  1. The buyer opens Return & Refund on the order and picks a reason. The seller's payout goes on hold straight away. Nothing is refunded yet.
  2. Change of mind: the seller accepts or rejects. Faulty or not as described: the seller doesn't need to approve it, but must pay for the return label by the deadline shown on the return.
  3. The return label price is a live carrier quote, not the original delivery charge. The right person pays for it in a separate secure checkout.
  4. The buyer downloads the label (or uses the drop-off QR code) and sends the item back with tracking. Keep your proof of postage.
  5. When tracking shows the parcel is back with the seller, the seller has 48 hours to inspect it. If they don't report a problem, the buyer is refunded. If they report a condition problem with evidence, the refund is paused and Rigged steps in.

Refunds aren't automatic. If a seller misses the return label deadline, the buyer isn't refunded automatically. Rigged support is alerted and the seller's payout stays on hold.

How much will I get back, and when?

You get the item price back minus Stripe's payment processing fee, where the law allows this. Original postage is only refunded if the seller's label was never used and can be cancelled. Once it's been used, or the parcel is in transit or delivered, postage isn't refunded.

Paying for a return label is separate. That payment is refunded only if the return label is never used and the carrier confirms it, for example if the return is cancelled. Cancelling a return doesn't refund the original order. Once a refund is processed, how long it takes to reach you depends on your bank or card provider. If the law requires a different amount, the law applies. Full details are in our Refund Policy.

My item is faulty, damaged or hasn't arrived. What should I do?

Contact the seller first from your order page. Many problems get sorted quickly. If a delivered item is faulty or not as described, use Return & Refund within 72 hours (3 days) after delivery.

For other problems, like a parcel that hasn't arrived, report it from the order page. This puts the seller's payout on hold straight away and gives the seller 24 hours to respond, but it doesn't refund you automatically. If it isn't resolved, Rigged support can step in.

Rigged doesn't provide warranties. Some sellers do, so check the listing, and buyers from business sellers keep their legal rights.

Account & Security

How do I sign in? Can I use Google?

Sign in with your email and password, or use Sign up with Google. Signing up with Google creates a buyer account, and you can become a seller later. If you forget your password, use Forgot password? on the login page.

What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Rigged uses email 2FA to protect your account. When you sign in, we email a 6-digit code to the address on your account. Enter it to finish signing in. The code expires after 15 minutes, and you can ask for a new one. We also use a code to check your email address when you sign up. Never share your code with anyone, including someone claiming to be from Rigged.

How do I contact support?

Go to Dashboard › Inbox › Support and open a ticket (open Support). We aim to reply within 1 working day, and we email you when there's an update.
